General Admin Volunteer

Carers in Hertfordshire is looking for a volunteer who could help us with general administration duties. The role responsibilities/task are varied and could include booking taxis, collating and posting large mail outs, inputting information and updating records, researching online, photocopying, filing and any other duties to support our services.

Meet and Greet Volunteer

One of the services we offer to unpaid family carers is the opportunity to attend courses, forums and events at different venues across the county. We are looking for volunteers to help on the day with organising these events including meeting and greeting, taking registers, serving refreshments and helping set the room up.

Young Carers Admin Volunteer

The Young Carers service are looking for help with the hugely important task of assisting the team with administration. They are looking for support with general administration duties which can range from completing new referrals and inputting young carer information to speaking with families in the first instance. This role can be varied to suit your strengths.

Borehamwood Seniors Volunteer

The Borehamwood Seniors Club is an activities/lunch club for the over 60s within the community of Borehamwood and the surrounding area. Currently the Club runs from 10am-3pm every Wednesday. We are looking to recruit volunteers to help with aspects of the day.

Keep in Touch Service Volunteers

Due to coronavirus and the support we have needed to offer, we are being more proactive with our carers and seeing real benefits. We need to recruit new Keep in Touch volunteers to help us with this role. The role is based at home and we would ask you to ring 5-10 carers each week. The carers are not expecting our calls and you will get a list with new names each week.

We need to recruit new Keep in Touch volunteers to help us with this role. The role is based at home and we would ask you to ring 5-10 carers each week. The carers are not expecting our calls and you will get a list with new names each week. We are now recruiting volunteers who wish to support this service out of hours on Wednesdays weekly 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

Carer Trainer

Carer Trainers provide training to health and social care professionals and university students to influence and inform future good practice. Through sharing lived care experiences, they offer powerful insights to help organisations recognise how they can support and deliver more carer friendly services. The aim is to seek improved outcomes for both carers and workers in health and social care.

This role is different to other roles listed here. The role can be either paid or undertaken in a volunteer capacity. If you are interested, you will be put in touch with the Project Worker to discuss your options.

Mentor Volunteers

Mentors support unpaid family and friend carers on a 1:1 basis, providing a listening ear and helping carers to set small goals that will help them feel less isolated, have more social contact, increase their confidence and knowledge about available support.

The next New Mentor Training course runs between 10am – 1pm on Tuesdays 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th November and 6th December at a venue in Hatfield. Please contact us if you are interested.

Carer Support Hub Group Leaders and Helpers

We run 16 Carer Support Hub Groups across Hertfordshire which meet once a month at regular times. We are looking for new Leaders to run our groups in Berkhamsted, Borehamwood, and Bishops Stortford. We welcome applications for Joint Leaders if people want to share the role. We are looking for confident people who like working in teams and have an understanding of caring. Good communication skills are important. We would also welcome volunteers to help make drinks or greet carers at the Hub meetings.
